They will be free of charge and you’ll be more than welcome to collect more information on our setting before and after the sessions. We will publish the dates on here very shortly.

Finally, I know our current parents have been eagerly waiting for me to return back from Maternity leave so that I can get Forest School sessions established…it won’t be long now! We’ve got the perfect spot just along the side of the Football pitch. I’m calling it ‘The Magic Garden’ I just need to do some work on the area to make it secure and finalise some details. I’m hoping to release some Forest School session dates very soon in the near future! Eek! Dream come true for me!

These sessions will run during nursery session time and will be included in the universal funding weekly enhanced resources fee. Due to ratio’s and funding we are only making these FS sessions available to children over the age of 3.

There will be more information on Forest School and how it will run to follow shortly.

 Thanks for reading,

Funded sessions update

Dear parents,

We have now published our new funded sessions structure for this September.

We are offering funded places for 2&3 year olds and are now offering the 3 year old extended funded hours for working families!

Please feel free to get in touch to view the structure and talk through your options with us.

Are you undecided about sending your child to nursery? Talk to our lovely Acting Manager, Charlotte about some taster sessions. We understand that it can be a daunting experience to send your child somewhere new, so we are happy to arrange a ‘taster session’ so you and your child can come and join in with some fun!

Additional 3 year old funding update

I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the additional 3 year old government funding for working parents?! We want to keep all families, current and those looking for childcare posted on how we plan to deliver it.

Commonly, it’s known as 30 hours free childcare. Just like the free 15 hours Government funding for all 3 year olds the term after their third birthday.

30 hours per week is correct for settings who only operate like schools, term time only over 38 weeks of the year. Families who I have spoke to often assume that with being eligible for this additional funding it will mean that they will get free childcare 3 days a week. Unfortunately this is not the case. Bare in mind that it’s 30 hours free over 38 weeks of the year. So over 51 weeks it’s 22.35 hours per week. Kings Meadow choose to spread the same amount of hours over the whole year so the free government funded hours benefit our families all year round because this suits the majority of our families’ needs better.

The funded hours you have claimed for will be provided completely free of charge however we still do charge a fee to cover meals, snacks, other consumables and enhanced resources within the set funded sessions. Funded only places are available but the choice of sessions will be limited.

Kings Meadow choose to spread the same amount of hours over the whole year so the free government funded hours benefit our families all year round because this suits the majority of our families’ needs better.

We are currently working hard to review and update our fees and funded sessions structure in order to accommodate the new government funding for this September 2017. We will keep you posted here on our website, our Facebook page and for our current families in our monthly newsletters.

If you have questions about the additional funding please contact our nursery Manager via email:
